The new Yaesu FT5DE is a complete portable C4FM transceiver with superior operability and new and sophisticated functions.

Even in a compact body (W2.44" x D1.34" x H3.94"), the FT5DE offers a stable RF output power of 5W and achieves an audio power of 1W that has been tuned for quality sound .True Dual Band operations (V+V, U+U, U+V) are available with two independent receivers.Individual large LED indicators for band A and band B show communication status and modes instantly (C4FM or Analog) of each band.The new FT5DE supports digital C4FM simultaneously (C4FM/C4FM standby).

With rubber protection on the corner of the main body, Yaesu FT5DE has a robust and shock-resistant construction. The degree of water resistance is IPX7. The comfortable size and shape of the fully flat rear body provides an excellent grip for the radio operator.

A high-resolution display highlights the frequency of the operational band. The color of the operating band frequency can be selected from white, blue or red. Three (3) keys on the touch panel and seven (7) operating keys under the display offer intuitive operability.

The new TOUCH & GO function is convenient to immediately start communications on a frequently used frequency. By pressing and holding the "PMG" key, the frequency on the current display is recorded in the Primary Memory Group. After recording, pressing the "PMG" key will display the reception status of the recorded frequencies in the form of bars on a graph (activity monitor). By simply touching the displayed bar, the user can instantly recall the respective frequency. (TOUCH & GO operation)

The Band Scope function monitors in real time up to 79 displayed channels that are centered around the current VFO frequency. The center frequency can be adjusted using the adjustment button or by touching and moving the frequency of a displayed channel bar.

The already popular features of C4FM digital communications such as automatic mode selector (AMS), Digital Group Identification (DG-ID) operation and intelligent navigation are also available in the new Yaesu FT5DE transceiver.

Yaesu FT5DE also supports the WiRES-X Portable Digital Node function. A portable digital node can be easily set up with the new FT5DE, a laptop, PC connected to the Internet and the optional SCU-39 cable kit.

The new Quick Detach Holster (SHB-26) is included in the FT5DE package as a supplied accessory, which allows attaching and detaching the transceiver with one touch while wearing the holster on your belt.
